DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) is a combination of two forms of the amino acid phenylalanine: D-phenylalanine and L-phenylalanine. Each has distinct effects:

L-Phenylalanine is a natural amino acid found in food and used by the body to produce neurotransmitters like dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine. It’s often linked to mood and mental alertness.

D-Phenylalanine is a synthetic version that may slow the breakdown of endorphins, potentially helping with pain relief and mood elevation.

Together, DLPA is sometimes used as a supplement for:
